Dulhin Vivah sanskaar

The Hindu marriage is divided into a few parts.

Tilak
Marriage usually starts with love.
After both parties have agreed, they promise each other that they will get married, which they do with a tilak. The Tilak can be seen as a kind of betrothal.

TILAK means that both parties will make a promise to each other to get married,
during this occasion they give each other gifts.

The dulhien's father, along with male relatives and his own pandit, goes to the dulha's house. Here a so-called ritual ceremony (puja) takes place. Then the dulhien's father places a tilak on the forehead of his future son-in-law. Finally, the father of the bride presents a gift to his future son-in-law.
