1972 - 2022
It all began in 1968, when Mr. BP Lachmansingh came from Suriname to the Netherlands. The second-eldest son in a family of ten brothers and two sisters was the first in the family to make the crossing. He came with the goal of studying medicine, but at a certain point, he could no longer afford his studies. His poor parents in Suriname could no longer support him either.
He held all kinds of odd jobs in various shops. Trade appealed to Lachmansingh. He had learned to trade at a young age when he worked for a Chinese man at the central market in Suriname. He turned out to be a true hustler, someone who scraped together his money through all sorts of small businesses and side jobs.
He never lost his hustling skills. A customer could simply ask for a bicycle tire in his shop specializing in religion, and actually get one. Lachmansingh could get anything from anywhere...
