RudrakshA explanation

How do you perform a Mantra Jaap?

With a Shiva Rudraksha mala you can perform a 'Jaap', a jaap is a meditation in which a mantra is recited several times. You can keep track of the count with a Rudraksha mala of 108 beads. In this ritual, a mantra, for example "Ohm namah Shivaye Namaha", is usually recited repeatedly while holding the jaap mala in the right hand. Do not touch the mala with your index finger and your little finger, then recite the mantra as you pass each rudraksh bead. Do this until you reach the end of the mala. According to ancient Hindu scriptures, if one has said a mantra 10,000 times, one wish can be fulfilled. During each jaap session you recite the mantra 108 times, whereby the mala also has 108 beads, 1 round in which you have passed all the beads.

Which mantra is for Shiva?

Usually during the Shiva rituals, many mantras are recited with each action, in most cases this causes confusion for a novice Shiva devotee.

We have provided a simple Shiva mantra that you can recite during the entire Shiva ritual:

" Ohm Namah shivaye namah "

(Loosely translated; ''I bow with full devotion to you Shiva'')
