RudrakshA uitleg

How do you perform a Mantra jaap?

With a Shiva Rudraksha mala you can perform a 'Jaap', a jaap is a meditation in which a mantra is recited several times. With a Rudraksha mala of 108 beads you can keep track of the count. In this ritual, a mantra, for example "Ohm namah Shivaye Namaha" is usually recited repeatedly, while holding the jaap mala in the right hand. Do not touch the mala with your index finger and your little finger, then recite the mantra when passing each rudraksh bead. You do this until you reach the end of the mala. According to the ancient Hindu scriptures, when you have said a mantra 10,000 times, you can have 1 wish come true. With each jaap session you recite the mantra 108 times, whereby the mala also has 108 beads, 1 round in which you have passed all the beads.

Not clear? We totally get it, that's why we made a short video explaining how to use a rudraksha mala.

Which mantra is for Shiva?

Usually during Shiva rituals many mantras are recited with every action, in most cases this causes confusion for a novice Shiva devotee.

Here we have indicated a simple Shiva mantra that you can recite throughout the Shiva ritual:

"Ohm Namah shivaye namah "

(Loosely translated; ''I bow with full devotion to you Shiva'')
